Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actor. Paquin, born in Winnipeg and was raised by Wellington Paquin's mother, made her acting debut as Flora McGrath. For this role, she won the Academy Award of Best Supporting Actress in the romantic comedy The Piano at the young age of eleven. She is the second youngest recipient in Oscar the history of Oscars. Anna Paquin's full name was Anna Helene Paquin. Born July 24th 1982 in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was a Canadian born New Zealand actress. As an infant, she won the Academy Award for best support actress. Her role as the empathetic and curious young girl Holly Hunter played in The Piano (1993) earned her the honor. The part as Flora McGrath - the daughter to an Scottish muffle pianist in New Zealand at mid-19th Century was hers at an audition for the role. At nine, she had little or any experience in acting. Paquin had a small part in the role of Jane Eyre's title character while she was still a kid in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) as well as she was a leading character in the movie Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin played Frankie Addams as a child in the TV film adaptation Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. Paquin also had a role of Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's 1997 movie Amistad. She portrayed teenagers on Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000). In addition, she played the role of a teen girl named Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
