Despacito, a song by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi together with Daddy Yankee was released in the year 2017. It was the top streaming music of that time within six month. It combines reggaeton and pop, which not only brought new attention to reggaeton music, but also an increase in interest in Latin music. Billboard's Top 100 had four songs in 2016, as opposed to two songs from the year 2015. At the height of Despacito's popularity the track was among 19 that mostly in Spanish were included in the Billboard Top 100. by 2020, there will be 41 tracks from this category. Following Justin Bieber's bilingual remix from Despacito (2017) well-known artists soon began collaborating with reggaeton artists, including Drake together with Bad Bunny on MIA (2018) and Madonna together with Maluma with Maluma on Medellin (2019). In the year 2020, a handful of reggaeton musicians were unhappy with the genre's direction toward the mainstream but a new generation namely Rauw Alejandro, sought to continue the evolution of reggaeton. In his music, he often used elements from electronic dance music as well as other forms.
